Underground Railroad

Spend an evening as a participant in a program designed to give you a historically accurate understanding of the Underground Railroad.

Who: Anyone 12 years and older (all minors must be occompanied by a responsible adult). This program has a 50 person capacity and will not run unless a minimum of 25 people register. Group bookings are encouraged.

Where: The Environmental Studies of Boyd Hill Nature Park. 2900 31st St. South, St. Petersburg, FL

When: Every 3rd friday of the month October - May. Program does not run June-September to avoid extreme heat and long hours of summer sunlight. Your experience will begin promptly at 6:30pm and run an average of 3 hours.

Registration:

  • Reservations are required and must be made by the second friday of the month.
  • To obtain a reservation, e-mail: info@pathfinder-ed.org with contact information, the date you intend to attend, and the number of attendees in your party.
  • Cost is $10 per person to be paid upon arrival.
  • Reservations are taken on a "first come, first served" basis. A Pathfinder representative will contact you to confirm your attendance.
  • In the event that the program is cancelled due to a lack of registration, you will be contacted by Pathfinder the tuesday before the program is scheduled to run. Otherwise, program will run rain or shine except when lightening is present.
  • Each participant must complete and turn in a liability and medical release form before the event. Minors must have forms signed by a parent or guardian. Bring signed originals with you when you come to the event.

What to wear: Close toed shoes are required, long pants suggested. You will be outdoors so please dress appropriately.
