High Ropes @ Pathfinder

You stand atop a forty foot telephone pole, the wind wiffling in your ears. You know you're completely safe--these ropes have been inspected inch by inch and they'll hold 5000 pounds. You're double-buckled and you can't even touch one of the stainless steel carabiners without issuing a command to your ground crew and getting approval. The pole sways a bit, and you steel yourself. Eight feet away is a trapeze. It may be eight but it looks more like eighty because the only thing you see between it and you is the ground forty feet below. No one has succeeded in this jump yet. You've watched five of your friends try, gasping as they leapt for the bar and missed, only to be embraced by the harness and safety system and slowly lowered to terra firma. You wish you were on solid ground right now. You could opt out and know that no one will think the less of you for it, but you've got to find out if you can do it. You've got to know what your limits are. You give one last tug on the safety ropes, take the deepest breath you've ever taken, throw your arms back and then catapult forward...
