Educator Training
The Pathfinder Mission is to provide experiential programs in a supportive environment, promoting increased social and personal responsibility.
The purpose of Pathfinder programs is to help youth and adults build more positive and fully-engaged learning communities. The Pathfinder staff and Board of Directors believe that intentional personal growth and community building are vital components of the lifelong learning process. Not only do participants find an environment with few preconceived notions about their success; through active and multidimensional experiences participants are able to practice new ways of being and increase self-knowledge and skill, resulting in safer, happier, and more responsible citizens.
The primary educational technique used is the power of experience. "Experiential" education is proven to be more memorable and deeply transformative than traditional, non-interactive classroom approaches to learning. All programs provide a non-judgmental atmosphere that emphasizes participant strengths and abilities, allowing participants to fully engage in a learning process that fosters inquiry, interdependence, and personal responsibility through direct experience.
With over ten years of training experience, Pathfinder also specializes in providing professional development programs for educators, direct-care youth workers, and youth leadership.
